In 1928, Ben Paul Jubelirer graduated from law school and began the general practice of law in Pittsburgh.

His education had begun long before.

A native of McKeesport, a mill town about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh, Ben learned early the trials and tribulations of working men and women. He began representing labor unions during their infancy in the late 1920s – marking the beginning of what today is Jubelirer, Pass & Intrieri.

In the early 1960s, Joseph J. Pass and Frank P.G. Intrieri entered Duquesne Law School. Joe, who was from McKees Rocks, and Frank, who was from Sharpsburg, quickly became friends. Upon graduation, both men entered into judicial clerkships – Joe for the Hon. Henry Ellenbogen, chief judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, and Frank for Judge Frank McKenna.

Joe’s clerkship was interrupted when he entered active duty in the U.S. Army. In the meantime, Frank entered private practice with Ben Jubelirer.

Upon returning to the United States from Korea, Joe entered private practice with leading trial attorney Frank R. Bolte. When Bolte was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County, Joe assumed Bolte’s labor practice.

Soon thereafter, in 1970, the three men – Ben Paul Jubelirer, Joe Pass and Frank Intrieri – entered into the partnership that continues to proudly bear their names today.
